Emma joined the Board in February 2022 following Redwings running a skills-based advertising campaign for new trustees. Emma has worked in the charity sector for 18 years, operating at director level for seven years. For several years Emma was a fundraising and data protection lead when she worked in equine welfare. 

Emma’s knowledge of the charity sector, and her understanding of what makes for good governance from a leadership team perspective as well as the Board, was an ideal match for Redwings. Emma currently works for a national household-name disability charity, leading on fundraising. Emma’s areas of current professional focus include fundraising and inclusion, and her extensive work on both has included volunteering as well as in her day jobs. Emma is passionate about horses and has two welfare horses on loan. She has been Guardian to cob Redwings Damian for several years; Damian was an RSPCA rescue who Redwings gave a home to when he was an orphaned foal.

Emma's favourite Redwings resident: Rumpel, the rescued cob, who was one of more than 60 horses, ponies and donkeys taken in by Redwings from the Amersham case which Emma remembers.
