Daren trained as a Chartered Certified Accountant and spent the first 25 years of his career in practice, working in national and regional firms. 

He was a partner for 15 years, progressing through client holding and team leadership functions to a Management Board role. During his time in practice he took on responsibility for the development of services to the not-for-profit sector, gaining valuable insight through his work with a number of local and regional charities.

Daren further developed his experience by serving as Trustee and Treasurer on charitable Boards, as well as taking on the role of Director and Treasurer for the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce.

He moved away from traditional accountancy practice roles in 2018 to join one of his clients, TaxAssist, in a more commercial role. He is now Group CEO and looks after all group operations, including UK and global franchise networks, tax and accountancy practices and a number of specialist support and service businesses.
